<description>I thought I would share some of the things we do in our home to reduce our emissions.
1. We make our own cleaning products. For example, an all-purpose cleaner is a 1:1 ratio of white vinegar (the inexpensive kind that comes in a big tub, but you can also buy smaller quantities) and water, and you can use white wine vinegar to clean your toilet. It is a powerful disinfectant. There is a lot of info about eco cleaning and more recipes at about.com.
2. We UNPLUG our appliances at night. Our computer, our phone (we keep our cell phones by our beds when we sleep), the printer, the toaster, you name it.
3. We wash our ziplock bags and re-use them.
4. We buy less frozen and more fresh food because it takes much more energy to freeze food.
5. We ride public transportation whenever we can, with the stroller and everything.
6. While we can&#039;t afford to buy everything organic, we almost always buy our milk and yogurt organic, and a good portion of our produce.

We sometimes slip, but we do what we can and feel that we could do more.
